Blueberry Heat BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:

1 tbsp of grapeseed oil

3 garlic cloves through a press

1 tbsp of tomato paste

2 tsp of chili powder

2 tsp of paprika

½ tsp red pepper flakes

1/8 tsp of ground allspice

¼ tsp of ground cloves

1 cup of sugar free ketchup

1 cup of water

¼ cup of apple cider vinegar

¼ cup Walden Farms Blueberry Syrup

2 tsp of salt

2 tsp of Brags Soy Aminos

1 tsp dried mustard

½ tsp of fresh ground pepper

1 bay leaf

Method:

In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add your oil, stir in the garlic, tomato paste, chili powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, allspice, and cloves, cook while stirring until mixture becomes nice and bright.

Add the ketchup, water, vinegar, blueberry syrup, salt, Brags Soy Aminos, mustard, black pepper, and bay leaf.

Turn the heat to low so you can maintain a gentle simmer and let the flavors come together, about 30 minutes. Discard bay leaf before using. Sauce may be used hot or cold.

Store BBQ sauce in an airtight container in the fridge.

2 tbsp is a serving – recipe makes approximately 16 servings
