Apple Sage Bread prepared, sliced and cubed. Toast or let air dry a bit - yields 2 unrestricted servings of bread. (Recipe below)
Per serving of bread use...
1 cup of assorted diced celery, green onion, and mushrooms.
1/4 tsp of savory
1/4 tsp of poultry seasoning (recipe below)
1/2 tsp of minced garlic
Salt and pepper
1 tsp of grape seed or olive oil
A little liquid - I like vegetable or chicken stock
In a skillet add oil, garlic, and veggies and sauté until soft. Add salt, pepper, savory, and poultry seasoning. Add mixture to bread and toss really well, add a little stock to give mixture a little moisture - taste your mixture, I like a lot of seasoning . . . don't be afraid to add more. You may stuff your bird or simply bake in a foil packet along side your turkey for an hour at 325 degrees. There are no rules on what you can or can't have in your stuffing, be creative!
